Ceramic Coating for Trucks in St. Louis
Keep your truck lookin good without scrubbin all day
So one of my regulars pulls up in his Silverado from South City—mud still stuck in the fender wells, couple of rock chips on the hood. Paint looked dull, and he’s like, “Dude, I clean this thing every weekend and it still looks dirty by Monday.”
I asked him if he ever thought about ceramic coating for trucks. He goes, “Isn’t that just for sports cars?”
Nah man. If you drive a truck around here—especially in St. Louis with the salt, gravel, bugs, and potholes—it might be the best upgrade you can get without touching the engine.
What Is Ceramic Coating for Trucks?
So here’s the simple version. Ceramic coating is a liquid layer we apply by hand to your paint. Once it cures, it hardens into this slick, clear shell that sticks to your truck’s paint like a magnet.
It blocks water, bugs, road grime, bird poop, salt—pretty much anything that wants to mess up your paint. And it keeps your truck shinier, longer. Like way longer than wax.
Think of it like putting your paint inside a clear raincoat that doesn’t come off in the wash.
What’s Included in a Truck Ceramic Coating?
We do the whole outside of your truck, front to back. Depending on the package, we can coat:
Paint (all panels, hood, roof, tailgate)
Plastic trim and door handles
Headlights and taillights
Wheels and calipers
Glass (optional)
Bumpers (chrome or color matched)
Bed rails, mirror caps, even emblems
Guy from Fenton had a Tundra with the Army Green paint. Real slick color, but shows dust like crazy. We coated the paint and the trim. He came back a week later like, “I just sprayed it off and it looked like I washed it. I’m not even mad.”
What About Bedliners or Bed Covers?
Spray-in liners don’t need it. But if you got a painted bed, we can coat it. Same goes for hard tonneau covers—especially the glossy ones. Makes ‘em easier to clean when leaves and pollen pile up back there.
Soft covers don’t really need coating, but we can clean them up with other protectants.
Why Trucks in St. Louis Need Ceramic Coating
Let’s be real—St. Louis roads beat the hell outta trucks. You got:
Salt and slush in winter
Construction dust near I-44 and I-70
Rock chips on Hwy 141 and 55
Pollen and sap in spring (especially near Forest Park)
Humid days where your paint just stays sticky
Bugs, always bugs
Ceramic coating helps block all that. It doesn’t make you bulletproof, but it makes cleanup way easier and keeps your paint from fading, peeling, or getting those nasty water spots every time it rains.
We had a guy from Wildwood bring in his F-150 after two summers of parking under a tree at work. Hood was covered in sap and bird mess stains. Took a couple hours of polishing to fix it, but we coated it after and now he doesn’t even park under trees anymore. Says it's too clean now to risk it.
Benefits of Ceramic Coating for Your Truck
Here’s what you actually get outta it:
Less washing (dirt doesn’t stick like it used to)
Way easier to clean when it does get dirty
Bugs wipe off instead of baking on
Salt doesn’t stick as bad in winter
Keeps that shine longer, like a mirror
Helps with resale if you ever sell it
And yeah, you can still take it through touchless washes. Just no brushes. We’ll show you how to wash it right.
Depends on what kind of coating you get and how you treat it.
3-year: what most folks go for (great balance)
5-year or 7-year: best for new trucks or long-term owners
10 year or Lifetime: top of the line protection
We had a guy with a 2022 GMC Sierra Denali, black on black, coated with our 5-year ceramic. He drives out to Wentzville every day, parks near a dusty lot. After a year, his paint still looked better than new ones on the lot.
How Long Does It Last?
Does It Help with Scratches?
Kinda. It won’t stop rocks from chipping paint or fix deep scratches. But it does block little swirl marks and light abrasions you get from washing or wiping with a dusty towel.
If your paint already has swirls or hazing, we’ll do a polish before coating it. No point sealing in scratches.
What If I Use My Truck for Work?
Even better reason to coat it. Work trucks get trashed quick. Ceramic coating won’t stop dings or dents, but it’ll help you keep it from looking like a rolling mud pile.
Construction guy from Oakville got his white Ram 2500 coated. He was tired of scrubbing concrete dust and clay every weekend. After coating, he just hoses it down at the shop and it’s clean in five minutes.
If you haul gravel or heavy stuff in the bed, we’ll just skip the inside and focus on the body, trim, bumpers, and glass.
How Much Does Ceramic Coating Cost for a Truck?
Here’s a rough idea:
3 Year: $799
5 Year: $999
7 Year: $1499
10 Year / Lifetime: $2499
Add-on options:
Wheels coated: $100–$200
Glass: $50–$100
Plastic trim restore + coating: $75+
You’ll get a full quote before we do anything. No surprises. And yeah—we’ll show you pics of your truck before and after.
How Long Does It Take?
Usually a full day.
We start with:
Foam wash and decontamination
Clay bar to remove stuck stuff
Polish to remove swirls (if needed)
Panel wipe and prep
Hand applied ceramic coating
Cure time indoors
We’ll keep it overnight if we need to. You get it back clean, cured, and ready for the road.
Can I Still Wax My Truck After?
No need. Ceramic does what wax does, just better and longer. You can use special sprays made for ceramic every few months if you want, but regular wax won’t stick right.
We’ll give you a little care sheet so you know what to use, how to wash it, and how to keep that shine poppin’.
Is It Worth It?
If you care how your truck looks, yeah it’s worth it.
If you wash your truck a lot, it’ll save you time. If you got new paint, it’ll help it stay new longer. And if you ever sell your truck, clean shiny paint gets more money. That’s just facts.
Plus, in St. Louis weather? It’s kinda dumb not to protect your ride. Winter salt don’t play.
Whether you’re hauling tools, towing a boat, or just want your truck to look good in the Schnucks parking lot—ceramic coating for trucks helps keep your paint lookin fresh.
